Is it time for Britain to Leave the European Union?

As we all have heard in the media over the past weeks, Great Britain will hold a referendum in June this year, offering the population the option to leave the European Union (EU), the Brexit, so is it time for Britain to leave the European Union?

If the UK leave the European Union, how will it affect the European structure? Of course, it’s not going to have as harmful impact, as the media wants us to believe. But we must understand, that whenever a country leaves an international organisation — it tarnishes the “image” of the organisation. In addition, history teaches us such courageous actions could be “contagious”: if it is possible for Britain to leave, it may give “carte blanche” for anyone else, especially now, when the masses are so disgruntled by current EU policy. There would obviously be pro’s and con’s for both sides.

Will the UK no longer benefit from a free trade Euro zone? However, the UK’s economical structure, which has proven to be strong even at times of crisis, will no longer be bound to the rest of the European team, that hasn’t performed so well. Would an Exit benefit us overall?

As we mention already, EU will suffer a big punch not only from losing a strong financial ally, (the 4th largest world economy) but also will have its’ prestige knocked-out. While weak east European countries are dreaming of joining the EU, the strong one’s may begin to leave one by one, leaving Germany face to face with a deepening financial dilemma and a growing refugee crisis.

Should we stay or should we go?

So what are the pro’s and con’s of leaving the EU, the Metro recently published the very same article you can read it by following the link.

Depending on who’s view, vision or opinion you believe will probably dictate which way you vote in June this year, I would urge you to read both sides of the argument and come to your own conclusions, as for me, well I am still sat on the fence, as both sides are still making compelling arguments on Brexit, as this subject begins to dominate the headlines as we move closer to the referendum, I would hope that we will all be able to make a reasoned judgement on Britain’s exit of Europe.
